Hello;Aanii; Ske:gon; bonjour.
Welcome.
I am Whitney, I am an Indigenous practitioner committed to delivering culturally safe and responsive care.
With over 18 years of nursing experience, I have developed extensive knowledge, skill and clinical judgement in mental health care, therapeutic communication, and client-centered practice.
My professional experience includes supporting individuals experiencing trauma, grief and bereavement, mental health challenges, and complex life circumstances.
This foundation supports my ability to safely and effectively deliver psychotherapy services.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred approaches, and holistic perspectives that recognize the connection between emotional, physical, cultural, and spiritual well-being.
The importance of culture, connection, community, land and traditional ways of knowing as sources of strength, healing, and resilience. When meaningful to clients, these perspectives can be incorporated into our work together.
my approach
My approach is grounded in over 18 years of nursing experience and advanced psychotherapy training.
I understand that healing is personal.
I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we work in a way that honours your experiences, strengths, values, and goals.
What if I’m nervous about reaching out?
Feeling nervous is completely understandable. Taking the first step can be one of the hardest parts of the process. You are welcome to reach out with questions, schedule a consultation, or simply learn more about whether therapy feels like the right fit for you.
Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on before starting therapy?
Not at all. Many people come to therapy with questions, uncertainty, or a general feeling that something isn’t working. Therapy can help create clarity and understanding, even when the path forward isn’t immediately obvious.
